Introduction
You are invited to participate in the research project “YOU-DARE: YOUth Debunking the gendered Arguments of far-Right Extremism” conducted by a consortium of 8 partners. More information about the project is available at www.you-dare.eu. This document explains the purpose of the project, the data we will collect, how it will be used, and your rights as a participant.
Purpose of the Research
The objective of this project is to investigates the ways in which far-right groups construct and mobilise gender identities and how these gendered narratives work to undermine democratic values. Through a comprehensive, cross-national approach, YOU-DARE seeks to challenge and expose the contradictions within far-right gender ideologies, shedding light on the complex relationship between gender, identity, and politics in contemporary Europe. Your input and participation will help us co-develop strategies to counter gendered far-right narratives, contribute insights on local and national dynamics to better understand and counter far-right ideologies, and help test innovative approaches to tackling extremist gender narratives.
Data Collection and Use
We will collect personal data including your name and email address. These details will be stored securely in our project database and used exclusively for:
- Building a comprehensive mapping of experts and stakeholders actively countering online and street-level far-right propaganda and radicalization. By identifying key actors, we aim to strengthen networks, facilitate knowledge exchange, and support collaborative efforts to address extremism effectively.
- Contacting you to gather insights and co-develop strategies to counter gendered far-right narratives and ensure that YOU-DARE research findings are evidence-based and tailored to the specific challenges faced in different contexts.
- Inviting you to our Knowledge-Sharing Platform and/or Policy Lab enabling you to contribute your expertise on local and national dynamics of far-right radicalisation and help YOU-DARE identify trends, emerging threats, and successful counterstrategies, fostering a collective response to extremism.
- Inviting you to test innovative approaches to tackling extremist gender narratives and allow YOU-DARE to assess the effectiveness of different interventions, refine YOU-DARE strategies, and provide policymakers and practitioners with actionable recommendations.
- Inviting you to YOU-DARE activities and events, to contribute to a growing body of knowledge on far-right ideologies, their impact, and potential countermeasures and help YOU-DARE develop better tools and resources to support those working to prevent radicalisation.
- Communicating project updates and research findings.
- Managing your participation in the project such as through the Knowledge-Sharing Platform, Policy Lab and/or Pilot Project
Your data will not be shared with any third parties without your explicit consent, except as required by law.
Data Protection and GDPR Compliance
We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the confidentiality of your data. In accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Your data will be processed lawfully, fairly, and in a transparent manner.
- You have the right to access, rectify, or request deletion of your data at any time by writing to gdpr@you-dare.eu
- Your data will be retained for the duration of the project and will be securely disposed of five years after its completion unless further consent is obtained
Voluntary Participation and Withdrawal
Your participation in this project is entirely voluntary. You may choose not to participate or withdraw your consent at any time without any negative consequences. If you decide to withdraw, please contact us at gdpr@you-dare.eu, and your data will be removed from our records as promptly as possible.
Confidentiality
All information provided will be treated confidentially and stored securely. We will take all necessary measures to ensure that your personal information is not disclosed without your consent.
